Agoult Meteorite Thin Section

Agoult Meteorite Thin Section

Agoult Meteorite Thin Section

Found in Agoult, Morocco this unbrecciated eucrite contains relatively large zircon crystals which crystallized around the date 4,554.5 Ma. Considering its ancient age, along with its mineralogy and petrology, the Agoult Meteorite is likely a unique sample of the original Vestan crust. This thin section, seen under cross polarized light, exemplifies nature’s artistic ability to create beautiful stained glass. Additional details on Agoult can be found at Meteorite Studies.
