NWA 10690 Meteorite Thin Section
This thin section of NWA 10690 gives a unique view of the transformations and processes occurring in ancient times. Within the large grains of similar color can be found smaller grains of various colors, shapes, and sizes which imply internal changes occurring within the source body. Paired with NWA 7030, it belongs to the LL7 class of meteorites, contains sanidine (on Earth found in felsic volcanic rocks like obsidian), and gives the impression of being a fascinating sample from the early solar system.
